For my second set of photographs for my A-level photography project, I wanted to create a euphoric/ glitch style, as I had seen this style popularised on Pinterest. This set was just as unprofessional set up as my first editorial; the camera was placed on top of books and I used my mum’s ironing board as a tripod, but you would never tell looking at the photographs.
To create the glitch effect, I reduced the shutter speed on my camera to create a, and used a projector to project and which from 2 different colours during the one photograph and simultaneously move myself when the camera was taking a photo, to create the glitch effect. For my development of the photographs, I didn’t need to edit them, because the raw images came out so well. I was shocked at how well the set turned out, as I had never tried anything like it before. We also wore sparkly makeup to reflect the coloured lighting.
The first few photographs I took were of my sister Isla, just using one colour projected:

After getting the hang of the technique a bit more, we decided to try and switch between two colours to create more of a glitch effect:

These are some of my favourite photographs I’ve ever taken, because it was an innovative technique that I came up with, without any prior knowledge of how to create a glitch effect.
